Dreaming of a smart urban revolution, green and liveable cities, which reflect a strong sense of responsibility to future generations? That is exactly what the Smart City Expo World Congress is looking at and because this dream can only be achieved with digitalisation and a sustainable energy transition, the ZD.B thematic platform “Digitalization in the Energy Sector” and the EU project EASY-RES will be represented there.
The Smart City Expo World Congress
Through promoting social innovation, establishing partnerships and identifying business opportunities, the aim of the event is to create a better future for cities and their citizens worldwide. The event has become the annual meeting point for corporate leaders, public representatives, entrepreneurs, experts and academics to share experiences. This year’s event covers five main points:

Meet EASY-RES in Barcelona!
The ZD.B thematic platform “Digitalization in the Energy Sector" addresses all areas of the digital energy transition. In particular the use of digital technology to manage network congestion problems, the efficient network reinforcement, the regional use of flexibility, energy efficiency, integrated energy management, the integration of renewable energies and the mobility- and heating transformation. Our goal: Promoting Bavaria’s energy future through digitalization in a sustainable way.
EASY-RES is a European research project of the thematic platform in cooperation with 11 partners in 6 EU countries. We develop novel control algorithms and innovative ancillary services, which will allow the penetration of up to 100% of renewable energy sources in the European energy system.
